How do I get into the college of my dreams? How does financial aid work? What major should I choose? Class of 2020 students participated in the first-ever Senior Bridge, a three-day college application boot camp, this week. Los Angeles Education Partnership’s College Adviser Team provided workshops, information and activities. Seniors worked on teams to create their Financial Aid Tower of Power from items labeled “loans,” “grants,” “work-study,” “scholarships” and “expected family contribution.” All students who participated were able to check out their laptops and earn their senior t-shirt! School Starts Tuesday, August 20 at 8 am!

Get ready for a great year of learning, creating and achieving at Torres East LA Performing Arts Magnet! School starts at 8 am every day. You will meet all of your teachers on Tuesday, August 20th with a special Opening Day Bell Schedule. Start your day at 8 am with your Advisory teacher. Find your Advisory teacher's name and classroom number on the charts posted in the first floor hallway of Building F.

Some students have already received their bus route assignment and information. Students will be allowed to board the Magnet Bus even if they do not yet have their Magnet Bus ID card for the first two weeks of the school year. Magnet Bus stops are at Muir, Drew, Edison, Nimitz, Carver, Berendo and Virgil Middle Schools and Foshay Learning Center. Parents and guardians with Magnet Bus Transportation questions should call the office at 323-265-6725.
